The Collected Stories of Amy Hempel I already have many of these stories in The Gates of the Animal Kingdom but it's worthwhile to re-buy them again to have this excellent volume. Hempel's prose is sparse but filled with colour and wit. Or something pithy like that. - Dec 17, 2007
