I can't listen to this album with any focus because the repreated motif sung by the bum gets annoying quickly. It's stricly a background piece. I didn't think minimalism was supposed to show its hand like this piece does. - Mar 23, 2007

I bought this after seeing Eraserhead, not knowing much about jazz. It doesn't have the same tracks as the movie, but some of them have the same (unitentional?) echoey spooky sound, which is good. It ended serving a different purpose than I intended - an educational one. It has classic blues/jazz numbers that I have encountered many times since. - Mar 22, 2007

Wes's groovy guitar mixes well with these blues tracks - his mellow sound brings out the sweetness in the songs. Bonus - includes Jimmy Smith on some tracks. I love Jimmy Smith.
