Aegis - Halik I hate it that their band name starts with the letter 'A'
Now people will hesitate to continue looking further down my collection. ehehehe. To non-pinoys: think of the Spice Girls, who, you know, have sold millions of records yet you're not gonna meet anyone who has bought one(Chris Rock). That's the closest comparison I can think of at least (their music is not in the same genre.)
Ok enough guilty pleasure-defending, this album rules! Yah the songs are good for the genre, but I wouldnt have given them a serious chunk of my listening time if it wasn't for the intensity and sheer power of the sis' vocals. Lani Misalucha? Regine Velasquez? Jaya? They're real, real, real good shit. But these guys.. they're fucking madmen. (See? I'm quoting from Pulp Fiction for description, you quote Pulp Fiction only when something is really really good, that's a rule.)One time these 3 "divas" were covering some Aegis songs on SOP. Regine was smart enough and stayed on the mids. Now Lani, for a moment went crazy and thought she can reach the same intensity as the sis' ..and then at the middle of the climactic line discovered she can't.. So she was like ..Bakit iniwan mooooo....(then abruptly shifted to low, almost male-like voice)...akoooooo.
It was hilarious!!

T.S.A - Back To Kindergarten Not really a big punk fan..
But I find this enjoyable to my surprise. Well perhaps its the better reproduction quality of this album (covers of songs from different pinoy 80s punk bands). I do want to listen to my music in good quality, and that includes yes, punk. - Aug 10, 2011
Cog - Culling Ok, Cog got my attention..
When I heard their first album, I thought it was just so so. But this one, their second album.. well, I like!
I like its being a concept album, I like the production quality, the short but effective use of female voices in a couple of songs, and I like the songs in general. Congrats to Cog for coming up with this album. I hope to slam in their mosh pit sometime soon. - Aug 10, 2011
Spoonful - Sangkutsara Aah what a surprise!
I ignored this at the record bars during its release as I thought this was just another boring pinoy pop rock band, based on the band name, the album name, and well the artwork. I took a chance on it later at a bargain price of P150 and lo and behold, this is actually a grunge album and a very good one at that! It now secured a position in my eternal playlist along with their second album from their suceeding band (Edible Smoke Recess). - Jun 12, 2011
Ambassadors, The - Life Goes On I didn't really think highly of Simple Changes, so I was really hesitant in buying this album. But after several listens, I must say I was impressed. This is really a great album. Now I want the Question Mark album, which I skipped because of Simple Changes. I heard it's good too, aarrgh! - May 17, 2011
